Meet Our 2024 Board Members
Broderick McGee President Broderick McGee was born and raised in Tyler and attended public schools in the Tyler Independent School District. Upon graduating from John Tyler High School (class of 88), he received his Associates Degree from Tyler Junior College, a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Le Tourneau University, and a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Columbia Southern University. He has over twenty years of Human Resources experience including the telecommunications, retail, manufacturing, and healthcare industries. He also holds a Professional in Human Resource Certification (PHR) from the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI), and a Certified Professional Certification (CP) from the Society for Human Resources Management. | Kim Haygood President-Elect Kim has spent the last 20+ years, building and maintaining a career in Human Resources. The last 20 as a director for 2 large Regional Electrical Distributors, a Transportation company and now a non-profit. She moved to Tyler in October of 2022, when she accepted the Director of HR position with East Texas Lighthouse for the Blind. Her husband and dogs soon following. She has a Bachelors and Master of Business degree from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX. She has maintained her PHR from Human Resource Certification Institute and been a member of National SHRM for 21 years. Hobbies include reading, crafting, coloring, and spending family time with husband and doggos. |
Past President Holly has been in the Human Resources field for over 19 years beginning as a coordinator and working her way up to Director. She has experience in the medical field, manufacturing and distribution, and a large church in Tyler. She currently serves as the Director of HR for Trenchard Consulting. Holly earned a BS in Business Management, has been a member of National SHRM since 2005 and a member of Rose City SHRM since 2017, currently serving as its president. She currently holds a SHRM-CP certification. Holly has sat on several volunteer boards over the years including the United Way, Salvation Army, several church committees, United Fund in Jacksonville, and most recently joined the Meals on Wheels of East Texas Board of Directors. She has been a guest speaker at the UT Tyler Soules College of Business school for several years, as well as teaching an Essentials of HR course and a SHRM Certification Prep Course. Holly and her family moved from Marshall, TX, to Tyler in 2015. Since then, she has enjoyed getting to know the Tyler and surrounding communities. With a set of 15-year-old twins, she stays busy chauffeuring her children to practices, games and school activities. | Ethan Borrero  Vice President of Membership Born in Austin and raised in Dallas, Ethan Borrero is currently the HR Generalist at Jasper Ventures in Whitehouse, TX. His work in HR started with Mercy Ships, where he was HR Administrator and Operations Recruiter. He received his Bachelors in Human Resources Development in 2020 from The University of Texas at Tyler and joined the Rose City SHRM chapter in October 2023. His HR experience covers recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee relations. Living in Tyler for the past 7 years, Ethan in his free time loves getting coffee at The Foundry, cheering for the Texas Longhorns, and hanging out with his wife. |

Sarah is currently a Professional Recruiter for Express
Employment Professionals’ Specialized Recruiting Group where she connects
Accounting, Finance, and HR professionals with companies in the Greater Tyler
area. She brings over 12 years of Staffing experience to her role with
Express. Sarah became a member of the Rose City SHRM chapter and the
National SHRM in 2020, and quickly volunteered to serve as the board Secretary
for Rose City SHRM. During her year serving on the Rose City SHRM board,
she has enjoyed connecting with other local HR professionals and hearing the
many great speakers through our monthly chapter meetings. In her free
time, Sarah and her husband, Justin stay busy with their three children
Mallory, Brady, and Brock. 
Skyler Brumit  Vice President of Technology Skyler Brumit is the Human Resources Generalist at Heartland Security Insurance Group. She received her master's and bachelor's degrees in Human Resource Development from the University of Texas at Tyler and holds an associates in Theatre from Tyler Junior College. Skyler was previously the president of the SHRM Student Chapter at UT Tyler from 2021-2022. She joined National SHRM in 2020 and joined Rose City SHRM in 2022. Her hobbies include board games, jigsaw puzzles, and sudoku. | Rashanna Smith Secretary Rashanna Smith is the Human Resources Generalist at East Texas Lighthouse for the Blind where she works with an amazing group of individuals. She has been a member of Rose City SHRM since 2018 and a member of National SHRM since 2014. She currently holds a Professional in Human Resource Certification (PHR) from the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI). She stays busy spending time with her girls and grandchildren. |
