Meet Our 2024 Board Members
Broderick McGee President Broderick McGee was born and raised in Tyler and attended public schools in the Tyler Independent School District. Upon graduating from John Tyler High School (class of 88), he received his Associates Degree from Tyler Junior College, a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Le Tourneau University, and a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Columbia Southern University. He has over twenty years of Human Resources experience including the telecommunications, retail, manufacturing, and healthcare industries. He also holds a Professional in Human Resource Certification (PHR) from the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI), and a Certified Professional Certification (CP) from the Society for Human Resources Management. | Kim Haygood President-Elect Kim has spent the last 20+ years, building and maintaining a career in Human Resources. The last 20 as a director for 2 large Regional Electrical Distributors, a Transportation company and now a non-profit. She moved to Tyler in October of 2022, when she accepted the Director of HR position with East Texas Lighthouse for the Blind. Her husband and dogs soon following. She has a Bachelors and Master of Business degree from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX. She has maintained her PHR from Human Resource Certification Institute and been a member of National SHRM for 21 years. Hobbies include reading, crafting, coloring, and spending family time with husband and doggos. |
Holly Bishop Past President Holly has been in the Human Resources field for over 21 years, beginning as a coordinator and working her way up to Director. She has experience in the medical field, manufacturing and distribution, and a consulting firm. She currently serves as the Sr. HRBP at Westlake Chemical in Longview, TX. Holly earned a BS in Business Management, SHRM-CP, has been credentialed in Total Rewards and People Analytics, and is qualified as a SHRM People Manager. She has been a member of National SHRM since 2005 and a member of Rose City SHRM since 2017. Holly also enjoys serving on the Meals on Wheels of East Texas Board of Directors as well. She has regular guest speaking engagements at the UT Tyler Soules College of Business school, has taught an Essentials of HR course and multiple SHRM Certification Prep Courses for the college. With a set of 17-year-old twins, she and her husband are trying to keep up with high school senior activities and losing sleep on a regular basis. | Ethan Borrero  Vice President of Membership Born in Austin and raised in Dallas, Ethan Borrero is currently the HR Generalist at Jasper Ventures in Whitehouse, TX. His work in HR started with Mercy Ships, where he was HR Administrator and Operations Recruiter. He received his Bachelors in Human Resources Development in 2020 from The University of Texas at Tyler and joined the Rose City SHRM chapter in October 2023. His HR experience covers recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee relations. Living in Tyler for the past 7 years, Ethan in his free time loves getting coffee at The Foundry, cheering for the Texas Longhorns, and hanging out with his wife. |

Sarah is currently a Professional Recruiter for Express
Employment Professionals’ Specialized Recruiting Group where she connects
Accounting, Finance, and HR professionals with companies in the Greater Tyler
area. She brings over 12 years of Staffing experience to her role with
Express. Sarah became a member of the Rose City SHRM chapter and the
National SHRM in 2020, and quickly volunteered to serve as the board Secretary
for Rose City SHRM. During her year serving on the Rose City SHRM board,
she has enjoyed connecting with other local HR professionals and hearing the
many great speakers through our monthly chapter meetings. In her free
time, Sarah and her husband, Justin stay busy with their three children
Mallory, Brady, and Brock. 
Amy Castillo Vice President of Technology Amy Castillo is the Compliance Manager at Family Circle of Care in Tyler, with over 20 years of experience in Human Resources. Her expertise spans change management, training, benefits, and payroll. Amy holds a bachelor's degree in human resource development from the University of Texas at Tyler. In her free time Amy enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons and dogs. | Rashanna Smith Secretary Rashanna Smith is the Human Resources Generalist at East Texas Lighthouse for the Blind where she works with an amazing group of individuals. She has been a member of Rose City SHRM since 2018 and a member of National SHRM since 2014. She currently holds a Professional in Human Resource Certification (PHR) from the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI). She stays busy spending time with her girls and grandchildren. |
Rosemary Jones
Vice President of Legal
Rosemary Jones is the Executive V.P. – Chief People Officer/Legal at Brookshire Grocery Co. She oversees the following departments at BGC: People & Culture, Training and Change Management, Communications, Risk Management (general liability and workers’ comp), Asset Protection/ Safety, and Legal.
Rosemary graduated first in her Baylor Law School class. She has 27 years of experience as a trial lawyer with Strasburger & Price, LLP and Ramey & Flock, P.C. practicing in state and federal courts in the areas of employment and labor law, health care and personal injury defense. She is board-certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Labor & Employment Law and Personal Injury Trial Law.
